When we read comics, we do so for many reasons; To escape one’s hard day at work. To have a laugh. To engage our minds in nature, beauty and the true wonders of a good guitar solo. Thus, I present to you one of my favourite comics out there: Irma Erikkson’s – Imy!
Imy is your not so typical girl-next-door…. far from it!

She’s outspoken & charismatic,

passionate about music,

loves her niece to death

and mother nature’s true beauty.

That being said her artistic counterpart Irma is a person with the best job in the world…

Going to concerts and makes those around her on this side of the world jealous.

Music clearly is her inspiration in everything that she does both in the comic and with her Illo Luv portfolio website where you can see her wide range of her varying art talents.

While Imy’s comics are mainly observation comics, they all have a worth-while meaning.

Irma is able to bring in characters that are entertaining and actually are productive in her comic.
The website is easy to navigate and her archive is great for those that want to read a solid 300+ archive. Also, go ahead and pick up her amazing first book!

I know I’m biased because Irma’s a fellow Tall Tale Features person, and I love her so much as a friend as we’ve gotten closer and worked together on various projects…but I have always believed in “Imy.” She has her own unique take on such a great character and is a welcome voice in the comics world. Like Dawn Griffin, you’re tempted to use the term “female webcartoonist,” and certainly it’s great to see so many more women bringing their considerable talents to the comics world; but like Dawn, Irma transcends any of that sort of talk. “Imy” is accessible to anyone who has ever liked music, been in a relationship, or looked up at the sky. At turns funny and touching, surreal and just plain wacky…but always entertaining. It’s thrilling to see her getting better and more popular all the time.
Thank you so much, Tom! Your endless support means the world to me!

I tried to remain as unbiased as possible, but that’s hard with you Irma

You may be a Jersey girl in Sweden, but Imy knows no boundaries and that is why it is such a great comic.
The best Rockin’ Comic artist I know and the best dream job ever!
